Villa de Corullon. Descendientes de J.Palacios 2012
Descendientes de Jose Palacios Bierzo ''Petalos'' 2012 is harvested by hand from old vines grown on steep slopes and the crest of hills in several villages of the D.O. Bierzo. The vineyards benefit from the continental climate with clear maritime influences. Aged in French oak barrels, this Spanish red offers wonderful fruit and spice character with silky texture and a long finish.
Editorial Reviews for Villa de Corullon. Descendientes de J.Palacios
A blend of Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz A bit sweet on the nose and showing a bit of reduction underneath the herb, briar flecked blackberry fruit, and dry soil aromas. Air cleans things up nicely revealing some blueberry fruit and a little brushy, dried herb, chaparral-like tone. Thi is super fresh in the mouth and packed with berry fruit that is taut and tight and a little youthfully harsh with high acid and angular little tannins in the mouth. There is so much fresh fruit here that you can ignore the edginess and appreciate this for what it is a tense, fruity, mouth-cleansing wine with good length. 87pts
The nose was beautiful with lush pink floral notes, ripe peach and a spritz of minerals. On the palate, it was remarkably fresh and vibrant with hints of young strawberries and inner floral notes which lasted through the long and refreshing mineral-laden finish.
Quite possibly the BEST sparkling wine I've had.
A great sweet wine!
Four and a half glasses
big tannins, light bodied...long finish

/ Lovely floral and fruity aromas of peaches, apples and apricots; loads of flavor; sweet but crisp; smooth and refreshing. Not too sweet.
/ Very elegant in style with an aroma of blackberries, cranberries and chocolate. The mouth finds ripe and concentrated fruit overlaying a complex wine with a velvety texture. Long finish. Now through 2016.
