Vintage: 2008 01/16/2010

Wandered into TJ's for a drinkable red I wouldn't hesitate to pop for a weeknight pasta. The mgr. suggested 4. This was by far the winner. Lots of dried cherry, light spice and tannins, OK finish. Not complex, but quite tasty and food-friendly at an utterly ridiculous pricepoint ($4.99). BTW, it really benefits from 20-30 minutes of breathing.

The Traveling Grape

Very light with tart fruit on the nose and a tad of smoke, low alcohol but a little acidic. Light bodied wine with not much on the front and a short finish but I still thought was very pleasant with its soft tannins although not a complex wine. Very one dimensional but not bad for $6 on a Tuesday evening.
