Vilafonté Red Bordeaux Blend Series C 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

“Deep and Dark” Deep and intense in every way; Series C give a sense of great potential to explode open with time but tightly held now. Its composition, of 61% Cabernets but with more Merlot than the 2003, reflects the power of our most intense Cabernet blocks and the richness of the 2004 Merlots, which comprise the balance of this wine. Aromatics are the essence of black fruit: cassis, blackberries, black cherries. The integration of aromas and palate is advanced for its bottle age (1+ year) compared with the 2003 C. On the palate, entry is soft, with deep fruit flavors start to finish; the tannins act as a foundation for the rich and concentrated flavors. The tannin texture is very fine, and the wine finishes with serious, long, punchy black fruit. Series C will open up with time…in the bottle or glass…and is a wine suitable for long cellaring if desired.
