Vignobles Mayard Chateauneuf du Pape la Crau de Ma Mere 2010
The wine is mostly made up of Grenache and Mourvèdre with barely a hint of Syrah. Crau de Ma Mère is an excellent wine, both powerful and elegant and as sun-filled as its terroir. Its bouquet offers a complex palette of very ripe red berries and rounded tannins with a chocolate-flavoured finale. It is a very concentrated wine with a lot of character that matches well with meat, game as well as milky and fatty cheese.

A Provencal fruit bomb, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape La Crau de Ma Mere exhibits lots of cedar, spice box, charcuterie, Provencal herb, kirsch, lavender and pepper characteristics. It is a spicy, big, full-bodied, rich wine with silky tannins, decent acidity, and a layered mouthfeel as well as an authoritative finish. Drink it over the next 10–15 years.
Bright ruby. A complex, deeply pitched bouquet displays scents of cherry compote, cassis and Indian spices, with a hint of lavender gaining strength with air. Juicy, floral and focused on the palate, with intense dark fruit flavors lifted by tangy acidity. The sweet finish features very good floral-driven persistence.
