Vignerons de Valencay Sauvignon Blanc Vin de Pays 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

The name ‘Jardin de la France’ (Garden of France) was selected to name the local wines produced in the Loire Valley. It is due to the expression that indicates Touraine and, by extension, the Loire Valley, since 1473, when the Italian ambassador Francesco Florio, visited Touraine and wrote to one his friends in Florence “I saw the garden of France here”. This Vin de Pays comes from the co-operative of Valencay and the winemaker is Sebastian Vaillant. This wine is dry yet aromatic with notes of pineapple and apricot. It shows good depth on the mid palate which makes it highly quaffable. It has a fragrant nettley character on the palate, along with a crisp acidity on the finish.
