Vigne Regali Banfi Brachetto d'Acqui Rosa Regale 2009
Wine Tasting Notes Rosa Regale Brachetto d'Acqui is a unique red sparkling wine. Sweet and appealing, Brachetto may be enjoyed as a delicious aperitif, between-meal or after-dinner sparkler. Aromatic with a hint of rose petals and raspberries, "Rosa Regale" Brachetto d'Acqui is perhaps the only wine in the world that marries well with chocolate, especially dark or bittersweet. Delightful, vivacious and aromatic, it can also be enjoyed with strawberries, fruit salads and a wide range of desserts.

Very sweet, but great with chocolate.
I paired this with a dark chocolate cheesecake and it was a match made in Heaven! My taste buds were singing and so were my guests. Everyone loved it! Definitely something to bust out at the next dinner party.

A Proprietary Blend wine from Piedmont in Italy. 2009 Castello Banfi Brachetto d'Acqui Vigneto La Rosa Regale 750ml
Displays a pleasing array of earth, spring flowers and red berries on the nose, but seems simple and sweet in the mouth.
Distinct notes of cranberry and raspberry on the nose and palate are accented by wisps of toast and rolled oats. The acidity is elegantly wrapped in juicy fruit. As in previous vintages, this is a clean, classic and delicious treat.
Festive cranberry in color with an aromatic bouquet with hints of raspberries, strawberries and rose. A fresh raspberry taste, with crisp acidity, enticing the palate with an initial softness, graduating to a round and luscious finish. - Winery
Heavy on the rose petal and raspberry compote aromas, and also heavy on the palate. Yes, there's definitely a touch of cherry cough syrup to this red sparkler. To enjoy this you have to like your sweet; maybe best with a custard dessert or vanilla ice cream. It's too sweet and candied for chocolate.
A berry cornucopia with bursting raspberry, strawberry and blueberry - just like a good Brachetto d'Acqui should be. Also typical of this style of sweet, sparkling wine with low alcohol is its soda pop fizz in the mouth and spicy finish.
