Stewy, wild cherry fruit greets the nose, in a good way, with freshening top notes of herbs and a hint of nutmeg. This is very fresh in the mouth, precise and layered with aromatic wild cherry fruit, earth, herb and that haunting little nutmeg tone. A wine with wonderful balance, elegant and very well done. Fresh tannins with some clay notes on the finish and a finale that shows a hint of espresso foam and strawberry. 92pts

Dark, menthol, earth, licorice, closed, powerful, a hint of powdered sugar. Nice focus, clean and crisp, tight but with nice texture and balance, good feel, dark and powerful but still very simple, embryonic.

AWE blind tasting - lovely liquory fruit, great captured fruit on the nose, with exotic notes of green seeds middle eastern spicy seeds, nice intensity just a touch of medicinal character and a hint of black cherry fruit, a bit sweet up front then falling off but the palate holds it together just enough to maintain interest, a soft styled wine again with lovely pure if simple dark slight cooked raspberry/dried strawberry tones and a little bit of tension from the medicinal character which gains nice purity on the long finish 88-89

Very Burgundian in style, this red delivers strawberry and cherry flavors, accented by notes of herbs and underbrush. Still a bit stingy on the finish, but the balance is there, so be patient. Best from 2015 through 2029.

Good full red. A bit aromatically compressed on the nose today, with the warm vintage and oak element dominating. Then large-scaled, dense and sweet in the mouth but in a youthfully dumb stage. A big and very long Barolo but a bit aggressive, even tough, today and hard to judge. Iandrsquo;d lay this down for five or six years.

The 2007 Barolo Margheria is fabulously ripe and explosive in its dark red fruit, leather, licorice and anise. Medium to full in body, the Margheria possesses superb delineation and nuance to match its elegant personality. It turns exuberant again on the finish, where floral, minty notes add lift and freshness. The 2007 Margheria is a wonderfully complete, regal Barolo from Massolino with a bright future ahead of it. Anticipated maturity: 2015andndash;2027.

The 2006 Barolo Margheria shows lovely density and richness in a mid-weight style. This is a refined expression of Serralunga. Bright red fruits, spices and violets are some of the nuances that emerge from the glass, followed by darker cherries, flow... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. Massolino's cask-aged 2005 Barolo Margheria is a sweet, layered wine that shows superb depth and precision. Margheria is planted on a hillside west of Serralunga. This muscular andrsquo;04 feels tightly coiled; with air, it shows a heady mix of fruit (dried and fresh cherries) and earth. It becomes elegant with time, the sinewy tannins supporting the juicy character of the fruit. Finely made, this is a powerful wine to enjoy over the next decade.

Showing the riper side of nebbiolo, this balances plum and peach notes with gripping tannin. It shows more depth and minerality with air, the flavors lengthening out to a savory finish. It's drinking well now, especially when decanted for roast leg of lamb.
