Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf du Pape la Crau Rouge 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

"Pure and silky, with raspberry, cocoa, truffle and mineral notes that glide along fresh acidity. Long, silky finish lets the fruit and minerality hang nicely, while the garrigue hangs in the background, This should blossom in the cellar. Best from 2008 through 2025...94." WS 2/07

Wow it hits every taste bud; dark chocolate, black cherry, smoky finish. I love the intensity.

86/100: Color: Deep dark red. Nose: Dark red fruit. Very strong nose. First taste: Very fruity and sweet, initially. Then the dryness hits you. At first, the tannins really overwhelmed any flavor qualities i noticed, but after the 2nd/3rd taste, it grew on me. I actually liked that mouth puckering feeling from the tannins. The mouth feel was pretty smooth, not very thin. The finish was mediocre, around 10 seconds for me, but I was always left wanting another taste. Near the end of the glass, I did start to get some hints of vanilla that everyone else is talking about, but not as strong for me. Decent cab, but not grr-r-r-r-eat!

An excellent deal. I bought a case and carried it a mile home. I'm still smiling on the eighth bottle.

Quite dry, with most of the taste hidden by tannins the firsthour or two. but on the second night it really opened up. Vanilla, strawberries and espresso nose. Still dry and tannic, but vanilla and strawberry pie, whipped cream topping and crust included, are all here, with a hint of espresso and tar. Surprisingly long finish for a moderately priced cab. Good value to dollar, but not great on its own.

Beautiful rich red berries with a smooth milk chocolate note in the flavors. Yummy.

Aromatic with black cherry flavors and a silky texture. Managed to be full, open, and airy at the same time.

Weingut: Villa SandiLand: ItalienRegion: VenetienRebsorten: 50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet FrancAlkoholgehalt: 13 Vol.%Säuregehalt: 5,5 g/lRestsüße: 2 g/lInhalt: 0,75 lEmpfohlene Serviertemperatur: 18°CLagerfähigkeit: 5 - 7 Jahre ab JahrgangFassreife: in Barriques gereift (12 Monate)Auszeichnungen des Còrpore Rosso Marca Trevignana 2004:Wine Enthusiast 2008 ? 97 Punkte Rotwein > Italien > Venetien

Good red-ruby. Highly complex, cabernet franc-dominated aromas of berries, dark chocolate, leather, tobacco and spices. Dense and fat but with a firm edge of acidity leavening the wine's layered texture. A lush and creamy wine with terrific spine. Cl... Stephen Tanzer's IWC.
