Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf du Pape -6xbt 1998

Winemaker's Notes:

Undoubtedly one of the wines of the vintage despite the failure of its Cabernet
Franc. Unusually the '98 blend is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Richly
concentrated, this wine displays both wonderful purity of fruit and a fine
expression of terroir.

A powerful, wonderfully toned red. Like a great javelin-thrower. Lovely mineral, berry and violet aromas with hints of new oak. Full-bodied, with big yet silky tannins and a long, long finish. Best after 2010. 3,000 cases made. (JS) Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 1998 Vieux Chateau Certan 750ml

but there is no doubting its fabulous potential. The color is a dense purple. The wine reveals high tannin
