Sweet and soft on the nose with early accents of mocha, sweet tobacco leaf, allspice and brown sugar joined by dried bay leaf and black currants. On entry this shows excellent integration and while there is plenty of acidity here, it is held nicely in check by the rich yet not weighty fruit. The oak is well measured as well, yielding a rather seamless wine with attractive herb, toast and blackcurrant flavors; elegant and bright with refreshing acidity on the moderately long finish which ends with cinnamon dusted red berry fruits. This probably won't wow many, but it drinks quite well in a rather classic modern Napa Valley style. Snappy, clean and crisp. 89pts

Tight and dark on the nose, with hints of old wood and cloves along with a dry earthiness, all lurking under blackberry fruit topped with hints of pepper and menthol. Smooth and a bit matte in the mouth, with some dry tannins embedded in a core of plummy fruit that’s framed with hints of meat, coffee and sweet spices. The mouthfeel is a bit foursquare here, with nice black cherry fruit on the finish. 88pts

This smells stemmy and composty, all feral with iron and green pepper and even a touch of celery. Fairly nicely balanced, rich and broad with sufficient acidity to perk things up a touch on the palate. There’s some nice fruit here as well, clear with both mineral and very gentle vegetal tones accenting the blueberryish fruit on the mid-palate that becomes more obvious on the finish. The finish is a touch short and tough, though the blueberry fruit and violet nuances do show some aromatic lift. Hopefully time will help this because today it is a bit ordinary at best. 84pts

Butterscotch and black cherry on the nose with just a touch of herbs and a piercing violet top note. On the palate this is very fresh with great acids and unobtrusive tannins that are very soft but add volume in the mouth. The fruit has a muddy, earthy tone that adds nice depth and a touch of complexity to the pure fruit. 88pts

Very ripe and a bit Porty on the nose with prune elements, hung game, barnyard, sea salt and terry notes accenting the base of roasted red and black fruits. In the mouth this is rich yet smooth, with the power of the vintage in evidence. And yet the wine is very well balanced, delivering jammy red berry fruits without tremendous weight. The finish does show off a certain candied note before fading into dried herb and spice notes. Very successful for the vintage even though this strikes me as over-ripe. 91pts

The nose was reminiscent of summer days with watermelons, fresh sliced apples and floral undergrowth. On the palate, a refreshing wave of fruits washed over the senses with a hint of sweetness and a perfect dose of refreshing acidity. The hardest thing about tasting this wine is that I just wanted to keep drinking it.

Most websites say this is a $25 bottle of Cab. I purchase it every day of the week for under $20. It stands up to the Big Cabs of Napa. It is made from Napa Valley grapes in Napa Valley and it has flavors of black cherry, plum, cedar and is aged in small oak barrels for 30 months. . It pairs well with any beef dish either grilled or pot roast with dark gravy. It's being lingers well. I'm a fan. I've even visited the vineyard and they along with their wines are lovely

Nose of quince, red currant and cranberry with lots of minerality. On the palate, the minerality turns a touch metallic. Flavors of cranberry, pomegranate and currant. Touch of strawberry. Crisp, dry and refreshing. 86 pts. 5/9/13 at winery

You know, I really loved this. It's pale cherry in color, slightly cloudy, and almost the color of a very dark Spanish rose. Whew! Aromas of barnyard, manure, and fertilizer lose there overpowering quality quickly, but the smell of topsoil remains to accompany the raspberry notes. Sour cherry and pomegranate seed flavors. Best with food--sausages, cheese. A good red for chilling slightly in summertime.

Had a 2005 at Thanksgiving and it was spectacular! A lighter Cab/Sav, but incredibly silky and nice fruit with a light finish that went well with the dinner. Finished another bottle later with a great cigar!

Another lively 2013 with lemon peel minerals and blueberries. Medium body with fine tannins and a bright delicious finish. Delicate. Tangy and bright. Only 1 000 cases instead of the usual 4 000. 92% merlot and 8% cabernet franc. James Suckling.

Appearance: Deep dark red Aroma: Expressive and aromatic notes of blackberry, blueberry and cherries are surrounded by cassis, leather, rosemary and bay leaf accents. Flavor: The entry is intense and lush with flavors of plum, strawberry and blueberry. Soft and velvety tannins, bright acidity and seamlessly integrated oak provide lovely structure and a lingering finish. Deep garnet color. A rich bouquet of dark cherry, cocoa, clove, plum, tobacco and toasted oak, with delicate notes of coffee and truffle. Layered and complex. Rich and full on the palate with a supple mouthfeel and opulent layers of plum, cherry, anise, and mocha. Smooth and concentrated, the wine exhibits richly woven texture with dark, dense fruit on the long finish.

The Tedeschi family has dedicated its energy and enthusiasm to growing and producing wine in Valpolicella for many generations. They first purchased vineyards in the area in 1630. Today the Tedeschi family manages 74 hectares of vineyards, of which 29 hectares are family owned. Although Tedeschi is considered one of the top producers of Amarone and Recioto wines, the family has never rested on its laurels, continually striving to improve the structure of the wine by keeping the vines’ yields low. They produce four distinct ranges: Linea Classica; Valpolicella, Amarone and Recioto, and Linea Fabriseria Awards from national and international competitions are testimony to the family’s uninterrupted search for refinement. Ein leichter, fruchtiger und ausgewogener Rotwein. Granatrot mit leichten Violettreflexen. Mittelkräftiges Bouquet mit gewisser Komplexität. Vorab Steinobstfrucht (Zwetschge, Sauerkirsche, Pflaume), dazu etwas Beerenfrucht (Brombeere, Heidelbeere) und wenig Dörrfruchtcharakter (Rosine). Ergänzt werden die Fruchtaromen von leicht animalischen Noten (Schweiss) und etwas Mineralität. Im Gaumen trocken. In der Rückaromatik zeigen sich zusätzlich etwas rauchige und pfeffrige Noten.
