What to Expect

Nebbiolo is a fickle grape famed as much for its pale appearance as for its tannic character and produces some of the most perfumed and richly flavored wines. Though generally only medium-bodied, the wines possess rose and anise scented aromatics and deep flavors of cherry, orange peel and subtle green herb tones.

Light and airy while also intense with floral, earth, currant jam and light minor toast tones. A really lovely nose, very Nebbiolo and while tight shows great potential revealing soft notes of raspberry jam and wild cherry in alcohol with a subtle meaty underlay. A bit polished up front then round and rich if a touch soft. Real thrust to the herbal tinged red fruits on the palate with plenty of tannins, which are a touch rough, as is the style of the vintage, but still in balance. Lovely spice and purity to the fruit, which has a wild red raspberry, red currant astringency that is classic Nebbiolo. Floral read more...

"The 2005 Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco reveals expressive aromatics and a lovely core of perfumed ripe fruit on a medium-bodied frame.
