Winemakers Notes

Vie di Romans is based in the heart of Isonzo, where Gianfranco Gallo’s 30 hectares of vineyards produce about 150,000 bottles a year. The soil is stony and glacial, and soaks up whatever rainfall there is like a sponge. From the vineyards, to the east, a semicircular mountain formation is visible. There is a pass in the mountains through which a cool east wind blows. This cool wind causes a big difference between day and night temperatures, and enables the grapes to accumulate a great deal of flavour. This wine is an unoaked blend of an interesting mix of grape varieties.
