Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Vintage Brut Champagne Label Slightly Cellar Damaged 1985
Tasting Notes: The effervescence of the Rare Vintage Rosé 1985 is fine and long-lasting. The nose is extremely complex and is dominated by a combination of ripe red fruit, mild spices and leather, accompanied by aromas of undergrowth. Composition: This vintage is composed of 17 Grand and Premier Crus and is dominated by the strength and fullness of black grapes. 49% Pinot Noir 14.5% Pinot Meunier 36.5% Chardonnay Occasion: Rare Vintage Rosé 1985 is the ideal complement for main dishes including poultry, veal and lamb, game birds and fish. It also goes well with creamy cheeses, such as Brillat-Savarin or Chaource, or very mature hard cheeses, including Cantal or Salers.

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
Light cherry color (made via skin contact instead of blending, as is usually done). This keeps the wine fruitier. Medium yeast and good acidity along with a strikingly sharp honeysuckle flavor. Overall this wine really wowed me. Softer finish, where the wine smooths out.
Super crisp, with great cherry and raspberry flavors and acidity well in balance. A wonderfully crafted wine.
Faint sweet honey and flowers on the nose. Gigantic bubbles on the tongue, extremely crisp and dry but with a sweeter edge than most nice Champagnes I've had. The finish leaves a lovely sweetness on the font of the mouth, while the back remains bone dry - and jealous.
Golden yellow hue and a slightly bretty nose (good). Very bad weather in this vintage led to very low yields and a unique wine. High acidity, and a rich, loud, aggressive wine. Soft finish, but the nose and flavor profile until that is intense. Very burgundian.
Beautiful cherry notes on the nose. Raspberries and cherry flavors dominate. A soft wine with medium acidity, enough sugars to keep it balanced. Fantastic.
Tried along with the '88 Brut Blanc. This wine, while still rich and powerful, was much softer than the blanc, with flavors of redcurrants and a smooth, creamy feel.
Very intense on the nose! You could see the age from that! Nice on the palate with with loads of bubbles .. Good quality, well balanced , not firm on the palate! Beauty
