Veuve Clicquot la Grande Dame 1989

Winemaker's Notes:

The Grande Dame 1989 has a magnificently brilliant green-gold colour, with a remarkably fine and persistent effervescence. The Nose is particularly striking for its complexity and its finesse. If the first impressions are dominated by fresh flowery and fruity notes, wrmer aromas of brioche and dried flowers come forth, giving the wine a considerable softness. A rare elegance is found in the mouth. Noble aromas of yellow flowers, white and citrus fruits create a very harmonious palette. The first impression of freshness is perfectly balanced by the exceptional softness and fullness which dominate the finish. This is an ideal wine for an aperitif.

Its extensive holdings, many originally purchased by Madame Clicquot, stretch throughout the top-rated areas of the Champagne region and are exceptional in size and quality. As in madame Clicquot's day, bottles age in the House's vast, vaulted cellars in Reims, portions of which were constructed some 2,000 years ago by the Romans. The remarkable Madame Clicquot (1777-1866) is considered one of the first business-women of the modern era. Widowed in 1805 at the age of 27, Madame Veuve Clicquot (born Ponsardin) defied every convention of the day to take the helm of her late husband's small Champagne House. She personally supervised cellar activities and introduced innovative production techniques still used today. Champagne Veuve Clicquot is known internationally for its classically styled and full-bodied Champagne. Read less

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Yeasty, vinous, pinot driven aromas of red berries and earth. Large-scaled and mouthfilling, with excellent intensity and subtle notes of apple, lemon and toast. Has a perfumed quality in the mouth. Subtle and very long and nicely balanced for the vi... Stephen Tanzer's IWC. A Champagne Blend wine from Champagne in France. 1989 Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 750ml
