Ventana Vineyards Pinot Gris Arroyo Seco 2010

Member Review by Zuiko:

Straw gold with a slight pink tinge, this wine is unusual in that it has a small amount of residual sugar (1%?). I'm guessing that the inspiration for this wine came from Germany (Rulander Kabinett). It has a peach, melon and green apple nose but is a bit shy. This wine is fairly big bodied. It needs a bit more acid to be balanced correctly but an enjoyable wine nonetheless! Degrades with air, indicating a short future. My rating -- 90

Ventana Vineyards:
Great wines are made in the vineyard, and the Ventana Vineyard has the perfect combination of water, soil, climate, art and science to create superb, world-class wines. Our success is evidenced by the number of awards that we have won over the years on wine made from this remarkable property. In fact, wines from our Ventana Vineyard have earned more medals and awards than any other single vineyard in America.
