Venta la Ossa Tempranillo la Mancha 2007
Venta La Ossa is a Spanish wine of great depth with quality that can only come from carefully tended old gnarled vines grown in sandy calcareous clay sold. Rocks and stones are strewn throughout the vineyard adding to the intense minerality. Hints of ripe plums black cherries and sweet exotic spices makes this Tempranillo a perfect compliment to a wide variety of robust meat dishes. Enjoy now or put down for several years.
The nose and first sip of this wine had a nice balance of vanilla and cherry. The finish was a little dry and sour. Paired well with a nice beef stew.
Venta La Ossa 2007 is an excellent Spanish wine if you can appreciate the dryness. The deep plum notes and the very earthy feel of the wine are delicious and add to the slightly oaky nature of the wine. I purchased this bottle for $17 and was very satisfied, highly recommended Spanish wine for this price range.

The 2007 Venta La Ossa is a blend of 85% Tempranillo, 10% Syrah, and 5% Petit Verdot fermented and aged in New French oak for 12 months. Dark ruby-colored, it emits a pleasing aromatic array of Asian spices, black cherry, blackberry, violets, and mineral. Smooth-textured, forward, and sweetly fruited, it has good length and 1andndash;2 years of aging potential. Drink it now through 2017.
