The first vintage, Valtravieso Crianza 1994, surprising in character and quality alike, was launched on the market a decade later, in 1996. Valtravieso’s small-scale production carried on year after year, bearing its fruits, although 2002 was the year the winery truly took-off as a business. That year, the winery was acquired by the Gonzalez Beteré family who implemented an innovative project: the ‘New Valtravieso’. The new Valtravieso Project adheres to the following philosophy: ‘Make the most of the resources nature has to offer to obtain some great wines in La Ribera Del Duero’. Valtravieso now has very modern facilities, with a total surface area extending over 4500 m2, and a 73-hectare vineyard which is divided into four vineyard terrains: La Revilla, Santa Maria, El Buey and El Obispo.
