Black cherries, pepper, leather, and cedarwood. Great acidity and body, quite complex. Dusty texture and a long finish.
Impressive. Full body, well structured, blackberries nose with nice oak undertones, long finish. Moderate tannins. Enjoyed it with Spanish chorizo and 'jamon serrano', which heighten the experience.
On the nose, overwhelming notes of pomegranate. Also quite floral (rose petal, perfumed, potpourri). Also spice--pepper, cloves, and cinnamon. Riojas can be either muscular or elegant, depending on whether the Tempranillo or the Grenache shines through. I found this on the elegant side. That's not to dismiss it's excellent structure. Noticed a cough-syrup-like numbness on the throat. Very enjoyable. Got it for $19, which I think it quite good.
deeply fruity rich mouthful of dark bright cherry plum clean finish with an astringent tang. highly recommend.
