Valpolicella Classico Superiore Quintarelli Italy 1999

Winemaker's Notes:

"From a terrific vintage from arguably Valpolicella's greatest producer,
this beautiful 'Ripasso' dry wine, a blend of 50% Corvina, 25% Rondinella, 15 -
20% Cabernet, Nebbiolo, Croatina and Sangiovese aged for four years in large
Slavonian botte/casks, has a super suave weave of dried, cherried fruit,
balsamic herby fruit, keep fresh alive by the most delicate of
structures. Great with carpaccio"

(David Berry Green-BBR Buyer)

Four glasses

This wine undergoes two fermentations to achieve its character - five to six months after the initial blend starts, an additional mixture is added. This is all aged for a further 6 years in oak barrels before being bottled.
