Valley of the Moon Unoaked Chardonnay 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Tasting Notes Citrus blossoms and newly ripened nectarine highlight the delicate aromas of this fresh and vibrant wine. Nuances of honey, apple and banana add to its complexity. On the palate, bright tropical citrus and grapefruit flavors are balanced with the roundness of ripe pear. Mineral notes come to fore on the crisp, yet long and balanced finish.

In 1997 the winery was transformed into a contemporary winemaking facility; still the original heritage was preserved. Valley of the Moon Winery, as it exsists today, is a testament to both vision and rebirth. The history and old walls remain, but the technology and styling is resolutely modern. This harmonious marriage of past and present provides the perfect environment to craft world-class wines. www.valleyofthemoonwinery.com Read less

A good value for the richness. Even though there's no oak, the wine is opulently sweet in pineapples, green apples, pears, bananas, mangoes, limes, honey and vanilla. Drink now with roast salmon and summer corn on the cob.

Fresh, intense and vibrant, with a rich, layered mix of green apple, baked apple, pear and spice, offering light shades of toasty oak and ending with a long, full finish. Drink now through 2016.
