This is candied on the nose with a nice initial burst of wild grape Jolly Rancher, backed by cedar and game notes. There’s also a very violet pastille-like quality here. Smooth, pretty seamless in fact, with a palate that express much of what the nose promises, though with less overt candy flavors. This actually has a rather clear and almost elegant palate, a very honest expression of fruit that is a touch simple but tasty and easy to drink. Blueberry fruit pops up on the back end and fades rather quickly on the modest finish. 87pts

Tarry and chocolately with notes of vanilla, dried fruits, smoke, ash, and a touch of diesel. Round, yet fresh and bright, in the mouth with lightly spicy plum and blackberry fruits. This is quite fruit-forward with just a little spice on the backend and a slightly drying, though moderately long finish. 87pts

Had this at their tasting room. Nice dark color and a fruit laden nose. On the palate this was not a "fruit bomb". Very refreshing with some depth. Finish was short but pleasant.

Tasted this at the winery. It was much lighter than I was expecting for a syrah, but pleasantly so. Ripe fruit aromas, with blueberry leading the pack. Wonderful flavors of dark fruit, oak, leather, and cedar. Much more fruit-forward than other syrah's I've tasted.

Rich berry fruit tones with a touch of smokiness on the nose. Rich and opulent on the palatte with deep, ripe blueberry flavors. Hints of tobacco and cedar, giving way to a long, lingering finish

This wonderful syrah has aromas of raspberry, blueberry and lavendar with hints of earthiness and spice. It glides across the palate bringing very nice flavors of pomegrantate, fresh berries, and of course, pepper. The finish is long and satisfying.

Winemaker's Notes:

Complex aromas of blueberries and lavender accented by chanterelle mushroom, blackberry and cedar. The concentrated fruit, floral and earthy notes are balanced with ample acidity and supple tannins.
