The fruit on the palate is reminiscent of spiced cherry reduction sauce augmented with chocolate and cinnamon stick.

Wine Tasting NotesFresh blackberries and clove mellowed by aromas of oak and hints of black pepper. Well structured with a long, lingering finish.

Winemaker's Notes:

While Sangiovese is an up-and-coming varietal for California, it is a long-revered traditional Mediterranean varietal which has proven to be well suited to Sonoma County.

Tasting Notes:

The 2007 Valley of the Moon Sangiovese displays fresh, forward raspberry and red cherry aromas, accented by a hint of sage. Red cherry also dominates the generous flavors, with a deft note of cinnamon complexity. The lithe palate keeps modest, well-integrated tannins in the background and leads to a long, vibrant, balanced finish

While Sangiovese is an up-and-coming varietal for California, it is a long-revered traditional Mediterranean varietal which has proven to be well suited to Sonoma County.
