Valley of the Moon Pinot Noir Carneros 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

Notes on the Valley Of The Moon Carneros Pinot Noir 2005 : NVWE NOTES: With its forthcoming aromas of boysenberry, strawberry-rhubarb, dried orange, vanilla and smoke; and rich, silky texture; this well priced Pinot is appealing from start to finish. Cherry, strawberry, black tea and gentle smoky notes are its lingering impressions on the palate, while a hint of tannin firms things just enough to make its food service applications broaden. WINEMAKER NOTES: Deep ruby color, ripe red cherry and raspberry fruit aromas with a hint of vanilla; soft, velvety tannins support a well-structured balance of fruit and French oak. This valley of the Moon Pinot Noir shows the attractive Black Cherry aromas that is indicative of the Carneros appellation. This complex wine is aged in French oak for twelve months to add the aroma of vanilla and mellow the wine's rich body. The fruit flavors are carried into the taste of the wine, exhibiting a fine mouthfeel and supple tannins followed by a crisp finish.VALLEY OF THE MOON CARNEROS PINOT NOIR 2005

In 1997 the winery was transformed into a contemporary winemaking facility; still the original heritage was preserved. Valley of the Moon Winery, as it exsists today, is a testament to both vision and rebirth. The history and old walls remain, but the technology and styling is resolutely modern. This harmonious marriage of past and present provides the perfect environment to craft world-class wines. www.valleyofthemoonwinery.com Read less

Very light and smooth Pinot Noir. Tastes of cherry and cola with hints of vanilla. Notice a bit of peppery spice that lasted throughout the finish Pared very well with angel hair pasta with tomatoes, olives, and herbs.
