Wine Tasting NotesCuvee de la Luna is a unique blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Individual barrel lots were chosen from Sonoma County's premier viticultural areas. Our best lots of wine from Sonoma Valley, Sonoma Mountain, Dry Creek and the Mayacamas Range were all used in this reserve "Meritage" style wine. "The goal with this wine for Valley of the Moon", says winemaker Pat Henderson, "is to make the most complex and best tasting red wine possible. Its non-varietal label gives us the ultimate flexibility to adjust the blend from year to year."
Our 2007 Cuvée de la Luna is a unique blend of four of the seven traditional red Bordeaux varietals. The Winemaker’s goal is to assemble a blend showcasing the best that each vintage has to offer from these wines. The non-varietal label provides for flexibility in the wine’s composition and allows the proportions of each varietal in the blend to change with the vintage. For this year’s blend, individual barrel lots were chosen from Sonoma County’s premier viticultural areas, including Sonoma Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and Sonoma Mountain.

Complex and concentrated black cherry and red currant flavors are integrated with rich oak and dark chocolate on the finish. Supple tannins and balanced acidity provide excellent structure to this elegant and complex blend.
