Average, fairly uninteresting...not a lot of fruit - more green notes with green pepper finish, light tannins. I do prefer a wine with a little more fruit and "character"...maybe a little "young", but not sure if age will help here.

Robert Parker 91 Points This is a young winery and it is making the headlines owned and operated by the Pizzolo family., Valle Reale is one of the few wineries exploiting the pristine conditions in the Abruzzo region. The vineyards are situated in the rugged and beautiful Canestro Valley in the Majella National Park. A stunning area with bears and wolves often sighted in and around the vineyards. This is the only winery in any National Park in Italy and they cannot bring in any outside plant material, and they must produce with absolute respect for nature. The high altitude and cooler climate (not to mention the state-of-the-art winery) lead to wines with much more polish and class than most wines from this region. Two of their wines gained the ""Tre Bicchieri"" award in the 2011 edition of the Gambero Rosso. Grapes : Montepulciano 100% Region : Italy / Abruzzo / Montepulciano d''Abruzzo DOC Maker : Luciana Biondo Notes : Wonderfully rich and spicy with truffle scents. Concentrated dark fruits on the palate. A long and velvety finish Serve : At room temperature to accompany roast and grilled red meats, game and mature cheese ABV : 14.00%

Bright ruby-violet in color, this silky-smooth Montepulciano bursts with roasted red and black cherry and wild berry flavors.

The estatersquo;s 2010 Montepulcino drsquo;Abruzzo Cerasuolo is once again one of Italyrsquo;s best roses, not to mention it is totally delicious. Round, sweet and harmonious, the wine caresses the palate with layers of fruit all the way through to the long, resonant finish. Anticipated maturity: 2011ndash;2013.

Valle Realersquo;s tasty 2006 Montepulciano drsquo;Abruzzo Vigne Nuove is an opulent wine loaded with jammy, ripe fruit. It offers plenty of up-front appeal and should drink well over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2007ndash;2009.
