This is made from the Montepulciano grape variety (not to be mistaken with the village of Montepulciano in Tuscany). This is a hearty, red wine with aromas of mixed black berries and rosemary.

Winemaker's Notes:

Top Award Three Stars By The New York Times. "Lively and complex with cherry, floral and mineral aromas and flavors." Superb blackcherry bursting out of the glass with licorice and blueberry. Rich with juicy concentration yet clean and pure and is drinking superbly. I was suprised by the wines excellent texure and length at this price. Tannins are silky, lovely layering and supple and a tremendous value. The vineyards are over thirty years of age and spends one year in French oak.
