Editorial Reviews for Valle Dell' Acate Frappato Rosso
Rather assertive on the nose with dark cherry fruit topped with fine floral and herbal top notes. This smells decidedly ripe. Youthful and maybe a bit closed on the palate with a slightly dense feel, though this remains lively and elegant. There’s a really fine blend of fruit and flowers here with a long, complex layered finish. This is quite the complete wine, rich yet lithe; and it’s youthful, so expect this to really shine with a few hours of air or two to three years in the bottle. 91pts
A summer red. It should be served a little chilled and goes well with appetizers, cheeses, cured meats and pates and won’t overpower the occasional fish dish. A bright red color with hints of rose petals and strawberries. This wine is light and wildly aromatic.
Very well received by everyone who tasted it. Smells like frosted cherry pie, but there's a lot of fresh acidity giving it a tart finish.
Served chilled (it was a little too cold, but warmed up at the table). The nose was muted due to the temperature, but there was a cherry pie flavor, complete with vanilla pie crust. Light, and with no tannins.
