Valle de la Puerta Torrontés Famatina Valley la Puerta 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Production: Cold settling: After pressing the fruit the resulting juice is cooled and pumped to a holding tank for "cold settling". The chilled juice is held at a temperature too low for fermentation to occur so that the grape solids can settle out and the fermentation proceed on "clean" juice. Fermentation: The juice is then "seeded" with a cultured yeast and slowly fermented under temperature controlled conditions in the vats for up to a month. The juice has evolved into wine and only clarification, cold stabilization and filtration is required before it can be bottled.

Very unassuming. Didn't have a lot of depth but wasn't bad. Quite velvety and soft which I liked but lacked body.

A lighter red with fruity flavours, good wine, very fairly priced and an easy drinking wine.

this is by far my favorite bottle of red wine, it has no bite at the end and is so smooth. such a perfect bottle of wine in my opinion. way better than some american wines that are around the same price.

Tested in 2011, I found it simply gorgeous ! Exceptional rich taste, for this 100% Grenache. Main drawback : the label that looks a little bit old fashion...

This wine poisoned me. I am not kidding. My entire body felt like acid the entire next day. AVOID.

A plush and southerly Provençal blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Unoaked and full of fruit and fresh floral character, this gives off lovely notes of rich dark berries, lavender, and violets.

Ein typischer, rassiger Weisswein aus der Chardonnay-Traube, die wohl im Beaujolais ihre Herkunft hat.

    Tasting Notes:

Powerful honeysuckle and other floral aromas are characteristic of this unique wine, the Torrontes grapes are grown almost exclusively in Argentina. It has an elegant pale yellow color with hints of green, while on the palate crisp acidity provides a cleanliness and platform for the citrus flavours. Finishes clean and refreshing, with more floral hints.
