The 2011 Elsa Bianchi Malbec is a fruity, forward, easygoing wine with ample cherry and black raspberry aromas and flavors. Nicely balanced and with moderate length, it is a solid value to pair with pizza, burgers, and Philly cheese steaks. If you should see some 2010 still on the shelf, do not hesitate, as it is equal in quality.
Lush and juicy, the Bianchi Elsa Malbec is an awesome buy. Loaded with bold black fruit and rich spice and smoke notes, this is the perfect Tuesday wine. (Actually, itandrsquo;s a pretty good Friday wine on a Tuesday budget!) Yummy enough on its own, but also pairs with any red meat or grilled mushroom dish.
The 2011 Elsa Bianchi Malbec comes from old vines and the quality of the vineyard shows. It has a crisp blackberry and raspberry leaf nose that is clean, brusque and fresh, while the palate offers chunky red berry fruit that is simple and mouthfilling. This is an easy drinking but thoughtfully made Malbec at a basement price. Returning 20 minutes later and tasting it blind, it actually opens beautifully. This is great value. Drink now.
