A full-bodied, medium-dry white with a lovely aroma of roses, accompanied by flavors of ripepeach and litchi. Fruity on the front, this Gewurztraminer finishes a bit drier with notes ofnutmeg, cinnamon and clove.

A full-bodied, medium-dry white with a lovely aroma of roses, accompanied by flavors of ripe peach and lychee. Fruity on the front, this Gewürztraminer finishes a bit drier with notes of nutmeg, cinnamon and clove. This wine is a perfect match with spicy cuisine, meatier seafood, poultry, and barbecue.

True German Gewürztraminer - as easy to find as it is to say. This grape comes into its own in Alsace, but wait. Golden and spicy with loads of extract and a moderate sweetness. With richness and flavor to spare, this wine will stand up to a huge range of pairings - gazpacho to garbanzo. Powerful spice rounded out with floral, pineapple, honey ripeness.

This easy drinking and approachable wine, slightly chilled, is a wonderful complement to roast pork and cheeses with its hint of spice on the nose and its drier character.

Very spicy, with tropical fruit and ginger-cinnamon aromas. Explosively fruity, opulent, soft and spicy. Very pretty wine, and very drinkable.

Light yellow color, has aromas and flavors of candied fruit, spice and flowers. It is clean, fresh and quite tasty.

Literally translated, gewurz means spicy in German. Appropriately, this smallish pink-skinned grape packs quite a wallop. Less serious than its Alsatian neighbors to the south and with more heft than most of its namesakes from California and the Pacific Northwest, this wine from the Rheinpfalz in southern Germany boasts bright flavors of peach and pineapple with a kiss of vanilla. These intensify and linger in the mouth, its slight sweetness balanced by companionable acidity, and it finishes with a subtle spiciness. As a partner to grilled Asian pork and apricot salad (recipe on request) it was sublime. But paired with Asian cuisines, spicy Thai dishes, Indian curries or almost any dish with two jalapeños or more, its spice will suffice. Try a little spice in your life. It's gewurz it!
