"Notes of sassafras and fennel in the nose of Eymaels 2004 Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Auslese remind me more of Erdener Treppchen, although strawberry and honey are also present. (Naturally, I was delighted to have my terroirist prejudices confirmed by a glance out the window as Christoffel pointed to the parcel in question - above the sundial - which, sure enough, is smack up against Treppchen and Pralat.) In the mouth this exhibits a gorgeous creaminess, with nut paste, herbal essence and strawberry jam all contributing to a sappy, intensity and palate cling.
