The 2007 Rapace (Sangiovese Merlot Cabernet) is sleek and racy in layers of red fruit that emerge from its silky textured frame. This is typical of the medium-bodied style of the vintage but the soft generous fruit and refined tannins make the wine delicious today. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2012. -Antonio Galloni Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.

Weingut: Vina UndurragaLand: ChileRegion: Valle CentralRebsorten: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% CarménèreAlkoholgehalt: 13,75 Vol. %Säuregehalt: 4,75 g/lRestsüße: 2,25 g/lInhalt: 0,75 lEmpfohlene Serviertemperatur: 16 - 18°CFassreife: in Barriques gereift (9 Monate)Lagerfähigkeit: 5 - 7 Jahre ab Jahrgang Rotwein > Chile > Valle Central

This intense red is on the racy side with vibrant acidity and entrenched tannins supporting the floral cherry licorice and spice aromas and flavors. Plays out gracefully on the palate with a lingering finish. Best from 2014 through 2024. -BS Wine Spectator.

Winemaker's Notes:

92 points Robert Parker: The... Cuvee Girard has a deeper ruby/purple hue and a slightly more fleshy texture, but otherwise is similar to the regular cuvee. With plenty of Provencal herb, lavender, smoke, meat juice, black cherry, and black currant characteristics, this rich, pure, sultry, opulent wine should drink well for 10-15 years. (Oct 2009)
