Twotone Farm Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

Two Tone Farms sources fruit from all over California to deliver quality wines at better-than-affordable prices. The 2005 marries bright, tangy black cherry Knight's Valley fruit with the red berry undertones of grapes from Paso Robles. Barrel aged in 60% French oak for soft tannins and complexity, there's also a splash of petite sirah, which richens the color and adds spicy blackberry fruit. The perfect pairing from pork chops to pepperoni pizza, you can never have too much of this wine on hand.

Dark and oak infused nose with an equally full bodied palate full of black cherry, currants and cola with a slightly creamy finish.

I was pleasantly surprised by this $6.00 pick up from Garagiste. Not overly fruity on entry and without air it seems a bit astringent. After the bottle is open for 20-30 minutes that fades away.

This is ripe delicious California Cabernet at a great price. Two Tone Farms sources fruit from all over California to deliver a quality wine. Another 2005 success story this wine is a blend of ripe Cab from both Knight's Valley in Sonoma and Paso Robles. Aged in French oak, it has distinct character, soft tannins and an underlying complexity to the ripe berry fruit.
