Twomey Merlot Napa Valley 2009
According to winemaking consultant, Jean-Claude Berrouet, This wine expresses the sensual side of Merlot, beautifully complemented by original, exotic notes... 94% Merlot, 5.6% Cabernet Franc, 0.4% Cabernet Sauvignon. Not yet reviewed; 2008 vintage rated 91 points by Wine Enthusiast: The translucent color and light body warn against aging this wine, but why would you want to? It's delicious right out of the bottle. Rich in black currant, cherry, violet and cedar, it's a blend of all five of the classic Bordeaux varieties.
One bottle of three had a serious cork failure. The wine had turned to vinegar. Of course the Prince of wines replaced it, but each one thereafter had the slight background flavor of acetic acid (vinegar). Sorry, but I won't be spending on Twomey again. Spend a little more and enjoy the best, Silver Oak Napa Valley or Alexander Valley...its a far better product!
