Food Pairings for Two Hands Shiraz Mclaren Vale Angels Share
Solid red fruit, with some significant oak and a hint of spice. A great example of a big, thick, chewy Australian red. Inky, like most of Two Hands offerings, and mostly jammy fruit upfront with some slight complexity on the finish. I really liked it, but I am a sucker for this big fruit style. The Two Hands Garden series made me love big reds! Great producer!
Delicious, fruity, peppery, pencil shavings, wonderful nose. Outstanding Shiraz for a good price. Just an outstanding effort and it's young yet. Wait a couple years, it'll knock your socks off.
Good nose of blueberry muffin and shiraz tones, but with a little barnyard. Sugary, syrupy on the palate. Too sweet for me.
Visually it's very deep purple with long legs. On the nose it has strong hints of deep plum, mulberry, chocolate, cherry and licorice with mild notes of vanilla and spice. The taste is dynamic, but not overpowering on the pallet, with full bodied fruit and a great balance of the typical shiraz flavors. Acidy balances out nicely after an hour of decanting. The finish is long and wickedly enjoyable with a strong lingering of pepper and heat.
color: deep blue/black; nose-wild berries & cola; mouth-earth,clove & plum; finish - long & lingering; buy it, age it, drink it share it.
Perfect Australian example that manages to satisfy sans silly name.

The 2011 Angels' Share Shiraz has a black core with magenta rim. Beautifully perfumed with earthy black fruits, subtle cracked pepper, vanilla and chocolate notes. Very inviting. Impressive burst of flavor with rich dark fruits and spice dominate the long
A deep inky red. Nice core of red fruits with a little spicy pepper, mocha and vanilla notes adding much complexity. Delicious!
In November 2011, Two Hands was named in the Wine Spectator's annual Top 100 for the 9th consecutive year, an achievement that has never been equalled by any other winery the world over.
This wine is very restrained and elegant. Spicy red fruits, subtle char and pepper with underlying charcuterie, grilled meats and soft mocha and vanillin. A burst of juicy red fruits on the early palate that remains throughout.
From McLaren Vale, the 2005 Shiraz Angel's Share (the only Two Hands cuvee aged completely in American wood) is a wine of considerable intensity. Its inky/purple color is accompanied by scents of graphite, smoky oak, black currants, chocolate, and cedar. This fabulously rich, full-bodied, voluptuously-styled red should drink well for a decade.
The 2006 Shiraz "Angel's Share has an expressive perfume of cedar, wood smoke, leather, pencil lead, pepper, and blueberry muffin. Velvety-textured and ripe, it has outstanding depth and length and a harmonious personality. Drink it over the next 6-8 years. Two Hands is a negociant operation run impeccably by Michael Twelftree. It reflects the best that can be sourced from all over South Australia.
(Made from de-classified wine from Lily's Garden; aged in American oak, 25% new) Ruby-red. Very pungent, floral aromas of tobacco-laced dark berry and cherry, plus a hint of espresso. Fat, plush and seamless, the inky berry flavors backed up by broad tannins. Finishes sweet and fat, with a sappy, clingy quality. Proprietor Michael Twelftree notes that this drinks better on its own than with food.
Colour: Black core with magenta rim. Aroma: Beautifully perfumed with earthy black fruits, subtle cracked pepper, vanilla and chocolate notes. Very inviting. Palate: Impressive burst of flavour with rich dark fruits and spice dominating the long palate. Finally rounded out by subtle vanilla char and long fine tannins.
