Fresh and tight, with firm tannins around blackberry and tobacco flavors, picking up hints of exotic spice as the finish fades slightly. Best from 2014 through 2018. 14,000 cases made. -HS Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2011 Gnarly Dudes Shiraz gives a lovely mulberry and pepper character with an underlying savory / smoked bacon suggestion. Medium to full-bodied with a good amount of juicy berry and spice flavors and balanced acid, it is softly structured, finishing medium to long with some anise coming through. Drinking well now, it should keep to 2016.

As black as pomegranate juice, this is draped in the warm spice of tannin, weighty and full. A blast of ripe fruit from Barossa, this is a wine for barbecued ribs.

Winemaker's Notes:

Heady aromas of dark berry preserves, licorice and cola, with a strong overlay of exotic spices and vanilla. Lush, palate-coating blackberry and blueberry flavors show no rough edges and become smokier with air. Clings nicely on the finish, which strongly echoes the licorice and blue fruit notes.Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
