The color is a dark red, almost purple hue. The nose shows blueberry fruit, birch, cola and some vanilla. It's enticing and not overdone in any way. The palate is an assault of flavors with dark cherries, cinnamon, sour berries, dark chocolate and savory spices. Remains remarkably fresh yet so intense all the way to the long, fresh finish where you find dark chocolate covered cranberries. WOW!

Blockbuster wine. Inky and opaque ruby/purple stain. Cocked and loaded aromatics of blackberry, black plum, earthy spice and licorice root. The palate is complicated, layered and chock-full of black fruit highlighted with bing and red cherry, red currant and baker's chocolate and hints of clove. This is bursting with flavor and concentration, but has a beautiful acidity that saves it from being plodding. Needs a good 1-2 years age before it really comes into its own and will continue for at least a decade.

(2007) Still young needs time to open up when opening bottle. Very smooth with slight earthy tones. Excellent berry combinations of cherry and blackberry. Will stay with you for a while and improves slightly upon finishing. Will only get better with a few more years

Inky, dark red-black. Clear and brilliant. Big, intense nose of dark fruits and berries. A bit of oak, vanilla and toasty spice. Sweet blueberries and a hint of anise. A very slight whiff of dill that blew off after a few minutes. Loads of dark fruit accompanied by some spice and cedar notes. Medium to medium long finish with black licorice on the back end. Nice medium tannins, acidity and weight. Overall a very good wine but not as outstanding as I had hoped for.

Aromas of cherries plus chocolate, cedar, spice and scorched earth. On the palate dense plums explode onto the palate with spice, subtle chocolate and tar. The fine tannin backbone rolls on and on from the mid palate, surrounded by fresh juiciness, dark fruit and subtle oak.

Two Hands does well with a variety of grapes but excels with Shiraz. Owner Michael Twelftree and winemaker Matt Wenk aim for a house style that emphasizes a regional character with their Garden series, a collection of six different Shirazes from top growing regions in South Australia and Victoria. The Bella's Garden bottling consistently ranks among the best, with fruit sourced from 20 vineyards throughout the Barossa Valley. Wenk uses mainly older, 300-liter French hogshead barrels to preserve the complex fruit flavors. 4,000 cases made.

A Syrah wine from South Australia in Australia. 2010 Two Hands Shiraz Bellas Garden 750ml

Pepper, clove and plum flavors weave through dense dark cherry and roasted plum fruit, melding together smoothly on the complex and expansive finish. A big wine with depth and harmony. Best from 2013 through 2020. 4,000 cases made. -HS Glass-staining purple. Intense aromas of black and blue fruit preserves, incense and violets. Lush, palate-coating blueberry and cassis flavors show both power and verve, with peppery spices adding bite. Finishes sweet, floral and very long, with impressive precision. ** SOLD OUT **

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2010 Bella’s Garden is profoundly scented of blackberries, warm black plums and mulberries with an underlying earthiness plus hints of cinnamon stick, licorice and toast. Rich, ripe and concentrated on the full bodied palate, it is beautifully poised in the mouth with a medium level very fine tannins and crisp acid line framing the dense flesh and going into a long multi-layered finish. Drink it 2014 to 2024+.
