Twisted Oak Petite Sirah Calaveras County 2006

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Lots of fruit on the nose with notes of meat, tree bark, cigar wrapper, big black pepper spice, dark cherry, a bit of cola, nice level of complexity. Big fruit here yet with a bright, integrated spicy, forest floor, medicinal, coriander and roast white meat tone. Rather suave and complex with real depth and a nice layered palate presence. A bit minerally on the mid-palate and turning more so on the rather long finish with it’s very high toned aromatics over dark berry fruit. Finishes with just a bit of heat and a spiced oak final. 91pts
