Jose Maria da Fonseca Twin Vines Vinho Verde 2007

If you like young white wines, this one is just fantastic. Wonderful fruitiness and acidity. A lower alcohol content and a slight effervescence makes this the perfect bottle to share with someone on a quiet afternoon.

This is the first white wine I've ever had from Portugal, and I was impressed by the quality to price ratio this wine presents. Crisp acidity and hints of citrus fruit. I am not sure what the blend of grapes in this wine is, but when I tasted this I thought it was very reminiscent of a pinot grigio. I enjoyed this one.

Described well by the other reviews, this really is a simple, zesty, crisp youthful wine. Meant to be drunk young, and priced appropriately.

Light citrus flavors, with a lean acidic body. Lots of lemons and even some bay leaf notes in the mouth, this is a crisp, clean wine. Would work with shellfish, quiche or similar.

Yeast and salt scents. Spritzy, with a mild lemon flavor. It's a bit tangy on the finish.
