Twenty Rows Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2015

External Review by WineExpress.com:

Here's an incredible value from a winery that's a two-time recipient of Food & Wine Magazine’s, American Wine Award for their Cabernet and they continue to overachieve with every new vintage. Grapes for this 2013 were sourced from vineyards in Mt. Veeder, Coombsville, Oak Knoll and other prime locations in Napa Valley. A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petite Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec that's beautifully balanced. This 2013 is crafted to yield an intense, deeply colored wine of concentrated aromas and flavors. The wine is approachable and delicious and full of dark cherries and black currants and has notes of cedar, sandalwood and coffee. It has a modest 13.8% alcohol but the best thing about this mouthwatering Napa Cab is the unbelievable price. Don’t miss it.

Another very nice Cabernet for the price of around $20. Not much of a nose on the wine, but a beautiful garnet color that is a very easy drinking and pleasant wine. Great value! I'm going for another glass as we speak! Cheers!

Fantastic value - nice nose, fruit, body, soft and long finish. A beautiful wine now that will age well many years.

A good wine for the price. it has good character, good oak but not an overabundance.

Not a bad wine, but nothing really distinguishing about it. Medium weight, some oak, dark berry fruit, medium finish. The true meaning of mediocre. Not bad, just in the middle. Reasonable cost of about $20 for a Napa Cab, but the same quality in an Argentinian Malbec or a Spanish Grenache would cost about $8.

VINTAGE NOTES: The 2015 growing season in Napa Valley started out with unseasonably warm temperatures in the late winter and early spring. This resulted in an early bud break and bloom. Yields were smaller than average and considerably smaller than the three prior years. Harvest was one of the earliest on record in Napa Valley, but careful vineyard management and gentle fruit handling gave us tremendous quality fruit from which we crafted our signature style Cabernet. WINEMAKER NOTES: Sourcing fruit from diverse vineyards, we create complex aromas and rich structure for our Napa Valley Cabernet. Our mountain fruit provides smooth, velvety tannins with aromas and flavors of black cherries and blackberries, while our valley floor fruit provides dusty cocoa, currants, and brown sugar. We lightly age our wine for 12 months using a combination of French and American oak to provide the best structure possible. Alcohol: 13.5%

Napa Valley, CaliforniaTwenty Rows Cabernet Sauvignon is an outstanding value among Napa Valley Cabs and a true red wine gem. A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 3% Cab Franc and 2% Malbec, the Cabernet grapes come from two vineyard sources in Napa--Howell Mountain and Stag's Leap. The Merlot comes from Oak Knoll. The Cab Franc and Malbec are sourced from Mt Veeder. Winemaker Brian Nuss emphasizes tannin management as an important factor in producing powerful, yet elegant wines. Twenty Rows Cab was chosen #1 Wine in October 2006 by Food & Wine magazine! Twenty Rows Cab has a beautiful deep crimson color with penetrating aromas that begin with black cherries, dusty cocoa and roasting coffee beans. It is bright yet plush, with black cherry, blackberry, currant, vanilla bean and dark chocolate, all neatly layered for complexity. Firm, solid tannins provide good structure, weight and a great mid-palate grip. A long, tantalizing finish rounds out this beautiful wine.Enjoy Twenty Rows Cabernet Sauvignon with a grilled steak, roast beef, sauteed Portobello mushrooms, or aged cheeses.

Our 2010 Cabernet is crafted from carefully selected grapes to yield an intense, deeply colored wine of concentrated aromas and flavors. Approachable and delicious, the Cabernet is an agile performer that will outstep any bigger, more overbearing California Cabernets. The wine is full of dark cherries and black currants and has notes of cedar, sandalwood and coffee. - Winery
