Twenty Bench Sauvignon 2012
It is quick to express itself on the palate with harmonious flavors of cassis, blackberry, cigar box, dark chocolate and vanilla spice. Length, and finesse on the palate, a finely balanced wine of substance with firm structure and silky tannins. We dare you to blind taste this wine with Napa Cabernets at twice the price and then you will see for yourself our concept of 'worth and value'.
What used to be one of all time favorite Cabernets for just under $20 has really fallen from grace. The 2012 Twenty Bench is thin, with no nose and not much depth at all. It seems that Nine North Wines are more concerned with cranking out vintages quickly without putting the time and care required to craft a good wine. This vintage only spent 9 months in barrel....the 2010 only spent 12 months. The last really good vintage for this wine was 2007. The 07 was a fantastic valued wine for the money. Sadly, this is not the case here. Cheers!
External Reviews for Twenty Bench Sauvignon
Very oaky, with vanilla and caramel aromas and flavors and notes of blackberries and kirsch. The wine is fully dry, with lovely Napa tannins.
The Twenty Bench is one of our more pronounced vintages to date. Aromas of black currants, plums and chocolate accompany the wines dense, inky color, while the palate shows great structure.
