Twenty Bench Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
Now in its 7th vintage, the Twenty Bench continues to deliver Napa Valley Cab at an affordable price."Once you recognize and appreciate that expensive wines are not always better then less expensive onesthat the $25 wine can be superior to the $75 reserveyou've crossed an important psychological barrier." James LaubeThe side project of Jim Regusci of Regusci Winery. He bought 20 tons of exceptional grapes from a vineyard he planted/manages, and asked his winemaker, Charles Hendricks, to keep it separate from Regusci Estate grapes. The goal was to make a fab Cab for under $20.This is a California Wine.
This California Cabernet has a deep color and is full bodied. Complex nose with dark fruit aromas. On tasting, I noted hints of blackberry and licorice with developed tannins with a consistent background of vanilla oak. Very nice, bold Napa Cab for an affordable price.
Sweet, spicy nose of blackberries and cocoa. Sweet fruits play against the acidity. The wine's well balanced, but some may find the fruit too sweet. I really liked it. Very rich and luxurious. Blueberries, blackberries and figs. Nice fruity finish with lingering tannins
What a nice bottle! More sweet and spicy than I was expecting, but really quite special in its subtle spiciness. Blackberry and chocolate linger seemingly forever with a total mouth experience. A great wine for the price.
