Twelftree Greenock Grenache Mataro 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

A unique blend of Grenache and Mataro (Mourvèdre) from world recognized Australian winemaker Michael Twelftree. Heady aromas of rose, lavender and dried plum give way to earthy spicy clove. COLOR Deep, concentrated black color in the glass AROMA Heady fresh rose petals, lavender, iodine, roasted meats, cloves and fresh dried plums. TASTE Hits the palate with smooth coating weight that show brilliantly ripe and multi dimensional fruits, which are reined in by supple tannins. The lovely weight of flavor pushes deep into the late palate. Has drive and drinkability. The wine was blended straight after malolactic and included the pressings from all the winery's other Grenache batches. Half of the wine was matured in a 2200 liter tank and the balance in older French Oak. It was then bottled 11 months after vintage and matured before release.
