- Medium-deep ruby-red. Blackberry, black pepper, shoe polish and a hint of prune on the nose. Smooth and moderately ripe, with good depth of flavor and ripe balancing acids. Finishes firmly tannic, with spicy persistence. This bottling includes some Howell Mountain fruit, which has given it shape and tannic spine.
