Turley 01 Dogtown Zinfandel

91 Points - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate: As for the 2001 Zinfandel Dogtown Vineyard, no one seems to "let the dogs out" better than Turley. Turley 03 Dogtown Zinfandel 91-93 Points - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate: From Lodi, the deep plum/ruby-hued 2003 Zinfandel Dogtown Vineyard offers a huge nose of earth, roasted herbs, sweet pomegranates, cherries, briery mountain fruit, and a peppery, alcoholic finish.

Turley 02 Dogtown Zinfandel 91-93 Points - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate: For the second year in a row, Larry Turley has turned the dogs loose for the 2002 Zinfandel Dogtown Vineyard, the finest Zinfandel I have ever tasted from Lodi. This 750-case offering tips the scales at a whopping 16.5% alcohol, all of it well-hidden beneath extravagantly rich fruit. This deep ruby/purple-tinged Zin smells like brandy-macerated jammy black cherries intermixed with dried Provencal herbs, ground pepper, and other exotic spices. An exceptionally powerful, mouthfilling, palate staining effort with enormous richness and purity as well as a blockbuster finish, it is clearly not a Zinfandel for those who enjoy wimpy wines.

Wine Advocate ReviewAs for the 2001 Zinfandel Dogtown Vineyard, no one seems to let the dogs out better than Turley. This dense plum/ruby-colored Zinfandel possesses jammy aromas of black cherries and plums, followed by full-bodied, fleshy flavors with loads of fruit, glycerin, and pleasing tactile sensations. While not as complex as some of its siblings, it is a gorgeously seamless effort to drink over the next 5-7 years.

Intense and tightly wound, with firm tannins wrapped around a core of wild berry, black cherry and loganberry flavors, finishing with a tough edge of acidity and tannins. Drink now through 2008. 750 cases made. (JL) Wine Spectator. A Zinfandel wine from California in USA. 2001 Turley Cellars Zinfandel Dogtown 750ml
