Turley Zinfandel Howell Mountain Rattlesnake Ridge 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

92-94 points Robert Parker: The same can be said for the 2009 Zinfandel Rattlesnake Ridge, a high elevation, cooler climate vineyard. Its dark ruby/purple hue is followed by notes of blueberries, blackberries and damp, mossy, forest floor scents. The wine possesses fabulous fruit, admirable ripeness and a rich, full-bodied mouthfeel and plenty of power as well as fruit. (Dec 2010)

The winery is a family operation helmed brother and sister duo Larry and Helen Turley, founded in 1993. Their prestigious wines are in constantly high demand, and their private wine club has a two-year waiting list. The wines are produced from several vineyards, with vines dating back to the 1800s. Each terroir lends its own character to the wines, and they are given separate labels according to location each vintage. The vineyards are located in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Lodi, Howell Mountain and Contra Costa.  Read less
