Sweet, fruity and simple on the nose with smoky oak and varietally correct Zin notes. On the palate this is in an easy drinking style with sweetish raspberry fruit cut by green, hard acids that lead to a hot finish. A big wine, fun in a way but a bit too much. 85pts

Fantastic spice -- lighter aroma than I expected. Good tannins and acidity. Oaky and clean.

Lots of big jammy fruit and massive alcohol. Usually Turleys manage to balance the fruit and alcohol well but this one seemed a bit out of whack and hot on the finish. Not much fun to drink.

Very rich and full bodied. Thick, fruity, viscous and powerful. There was a lot of spice here and it was the only wine that could really hold its own against an overly peppered Filet au Poivre. A very powerful zin.

Dark ruby in color, just slightly cloudy. Blackberries, tobacco, and alcohol on the nose. Big fruit up front(cherries and blackberries) with hints of chocolate and oak in the mid palette. Subtle tannin and a bright acidty on the finish for balance.

Deep ruby color. Wonderful aromas of strawberries with hints of coffee and pipe tobacco. Taste of strawberry, plum, and sour cherry and chocolate. Very well balanced flavor and acidity.

An absolute gem in the Zinfandel family. Robust and confident in it's blend of fruit with a nice note of pepper in the mid-palate. This wine didn't last long as friends who really know wine became scary quiet in an attempt to not show pleasure and quickly grab a second pouring! This wine was a homerun and it will not disappoint even at this price.

92-93 Points - Steven Tanzer 89-92 Points - Robert Parker While potentially outstanding, the soft 2005 Zinfandel Hayne Vineyard is not as concentrated as past vintages have been. Although typically a candidate for long term cellaring, I would drink the 2005 over the next 5-6 years. Blackberry, raspberry, and cherry fruit cascade from the glass of this full-bodied, pure, rich, medium to full-bodied Zin.

From the sandy soils of Contra Costa, the well-made 2005 Zinfandel Duarte reveals plenty of fruit, power, and richness... Robert Parker. A Zinfandel wine from California in USA. 2005 Turley Cellars Zinfandel Duarte Vineyard 750ml

Wine Spectator ReviewGutsy and a little rustic, this is full of youthful verve. Aromas of wild berry, smoky pepper and licorice, and zesty raspberry, plum and rosemary flavors that build to lively tannins. Drink now through 2010.

Wine Advocate ReviewRated 90-92A new offering from the top of Howell Mountain is the 2005 Zinfandel Cedarman Vineyard. Displaying crisp acidity along with blue fruit, forest floor, pepper, and mossy elements, it possesses more density, richness, glycerin, and body than most 2005's.

90-92 Points - Steven Tanzer Moderately saturated medium red. Liqueur-like cherry on the nose. Sweet, lush and high-toned, with sound acids giving cut to the red berry and cherry flavors. Shows a dried fruit character on the back end and finishes with sweet, building tannins that give the finish good grip.
