Turley Zinfandel Howell Mountain Dragon 2011
Sweet, fruity and simple on the nose with smoky oak and varietally correct Zin notes. On the palate this is in an easy drinking style with sweetish raspberry fruit cut by green, hard acids that lead to a hot finish. A big wine, fun in a way but a bit too much. 85ptsAdd winemaker's notes
RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

I missed this one. Drats!
This is a silky smooth fantastic (and expensive) Zinfandel. It seems hard to find, but I would buy 6 bottles in a heartbeat.
Fantastic spice -- lighter aroma than I expected. Good tannins and acidity. Oaky and clean.
Lots of big jammy fruit and massive alcohol. Usually Turleys manage to balance the fruit and alcohol well but this one seemed a bit out of whack and hot on the finish. Not much fun to drink.
Very rich and full bodied. Thick, fruity, viscous and powerful. There was a lot of spice here and it was the only wine that could really hold its own against an overly peppered Filet au Poivre. A very powerful zin.
Dark ruby in color, just slightly cloudy. Blackberries, tobacco, and alcohol on the nose. Big fruit up front(cherries and blackberries) with hints of chocolate and oak in the mid palette. Subtle tannin and a bright acidty on the finish for balance.
Deep ruby color. Wonderful aromas of strawberries with hints of coffee and pipe tobacco. Taste of strawberry, plum, and sour cherry and chocolate. Very well balanced flavor and acidity.
An absolute gem in the Zinfandel family. Robust and confident in it's blend of fruit with a nice note of pepper in the mid-palate. This wine didn't last long as friends who really know wine became scary quiet in an attempt to not show pleasure and quickly grab a second pouring! This wine was a homerun and it will not disappoint even at this price.

94-96 Points - Steven Tanzer A brilliant offering, the 2005 Zinfandel Ueberroth Vineyard emerges from a 19th century hillside vineyard planted in pure limestone. It offers a dense ruby/purple color, wonderful freshness, and a strong personality displaying notes of black raspberries, cassis, pepper, dried herbs, and earth. A stunner, it will be one of the longest lived 2005s, lasting for a decade or more. 91-93 points - Robert Parker

Gorgeous Zinfandel. Popped and poured, this showed no sign of 15.6% alc. Chewy dark fruit drank was seamless and well structured with a lengthy finish.
