Turley Zinfandel Howell Mountain Cedarman 2010

External Review by Vines Wine and Spirits:

In the 2010 Cedarman, Howell Mountain makes its presence well known. Darker than its counterparts Rattlesnake and Dragon, the wine almost resembles a Napa Cabernet. ALMOST. We said almost. No need to freak out. Fruit takes a back seat to lead and pepper.

The winery is a family operation helmed brother and sister duo Larry and Helen Turley, founded in 1993. Their prestigious wines are in constantly high demand, and their private wine club has a two-year waiting list. The wines are produced from several vineyards, with vines dating back to the 1800s. Each terroir lends its own character to the wines, and they are given separate labels according to location each vintage. The vineyards are located in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Lodi, Howell Mountain and Contra Costa.  Read less
