Turley Zinfandel Contra Costa County Duarte Vineyard 2004
We drank this 12-year-old wine 25 Dec 2016 with wild pigeon breasts pan-fried with garlic and juniper berry, plus roasted root vegetables. And it was delicious: deep maroon with a full, fruity bouquet, pleasantly dry, the hint of sweetness perfectly balanced by a light tannic edge. The rich flavours of black pepper and black summer fruits sadly didn't linger on the palate. The wine did not stand up well to blue cheeses. But with red meat it is delicious!

Wine Advocate ReviewAn impressively endowed offering is the big, rich 2004 Zinfandel Duarte Vineyard. There are usually fewer than 500 cases of this effort, which generally reveals southern Rhone-like garrigue characteristics along with plenty of soil overtones, fresh black cherries, and a spicy, heady finish.
