Turley Zinfandel Cedarman Vineyard 2015

External Review:

The 2012 Zinfandel Cedarman includes a small amount of Petite Syrah. It is actually a proprietary blend from their two other Zinfandel cuvees, Rattlesnake Ridge and Dragon Vineyard, both on Howell Mountain.

The winery is a family operation helmed brother and sister duo Larry and Helen Turley, founded in 1993. Their prestigious wines are in constantly high demand, and their private wine club has a two-year waiting list. The wines are produced from several vineyards, with vines dating back to the 1800s. Each terroir lends its own character to the wines, and they are given separate labels according to location each vintage. The vineyards are located in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Lodi, Howell Mountain and Contra Costa.  Read less

Good deep red. Ripe, rather wild aromas of dark fruits, earth, bitter chocolate and musky coffee. Sweet, tactile and superripe; a bit lower-toned and more chocolatey in the mouth than some of the preceding zins but with no shortage of acidity. Finishes with substantial tannins and very good length. This is actually a blend from Rattlesnake Ridge and Dragon Vineyards.
